Not a whole lot to update except that she had no fevers and no throwing up! Yay!
She ate better today but still not eating great. I can tell her throat is sore so the mucositis is setting in. She’s been getting really upset when taking medications and I think they might be irritating her throat but she’s been eating a little bit of the Magic Cups so hopefully that will help calm it down some.
The doctors have added some morphine as needed to her chart but I haven’t had to ask for it yet. We will try to stay away from the pump as we did the last round because it causes other issues for her. If she is uncomfortable and we can’t keep her comfy with the as needed doses then I will ask for it because there is no reason for her to be in pain.
She played quite a bit today and a volunteer came to play with her for a while. She wasn’t really in a sharing mood but she had fun and she played until she was worn out. She started doing the sign for sleep and then scooted to me and put her arms up… she rarely comes over to anyone on her own so this was exciting to see her do it.
The doctors ordered some of her medication to go through the IV so we didn’t have to fight with her through the night and we actually got a little more rest than we have been getting. We still have lots of waking for the IVs, vitals, and eye drops but she usually goes right back to sleep… not always but usually.
Please pray that these last couple of days go by just as smoothly and that she doesn’t get much worse. Also pray that we ha e a quick count recovery… I haven’t asked about her numbers yet as I know it’s usually the week after chemo when she drops. Thank you all for everything you do, we love you all!
