Shyanne had another pretty good day. She’s not had any fevers or vomiting for a couple of days now. There have been a few times when her temp has went up a little and a few times when she gagged a bit and acted like she was going to throw up but nothing.
She has had several clothing changes everyday because she soaks through everything. This was her first outfit of the day but she ended up have a few more before the day was finished.
The social worker came by today and brought some gift cards for the restaurants downstairs and some meal vouchers from the Children’s Miracle Network. Now that Shyanne is feeling better I might need to make sure I go downstairs every now and then.
Shyanne had a good nap after lunch and then the Child Life Specialists came in to do some fun things with her. Everyone works so hard to keep her and all the other kiddos entertained and we appreciate everything they do.
She got to do some foot painting… we will post pics of them later. She also got to do some mess free painting… such a great idea!
After all the painting it was time for some ice cream! She loves her Magic Cup!
Sissy came to see us later in the day and she brought us a little bit of Chicken Alfredo … Shyanne ate some of that too. She did much better with her eating yesterday.
I’m hoping it is a sign that her mucositis may be clearing up as she doesn’t sound nearly as hoarse as she previously did. She has also been in really good spirits and she’s been laughing and playing a lot more.
She’s found a new hide and seek game that she can play in the crib and she’s just too silly. She’s also been getting more and more interested in her DVDs. She tried to talk to the babies and gives them kisses. She also likes to help the nurses and she will try to imitate what they are doing on her Slothie or on them… she’s too cute!
She did pretty well over night, once I got her to sleep. She fights sleep and flips and flops around. She did soak through one time and had an outfit change during the night. Then she needed another one first thing this morning!
Some good news is that her last bag of chemo for this round was hung last night and should finish up sometime tonight… yay!!! Now we just wait for her counts to drop (Nadir) and then recover to over 500 so we can go home!!!
Please keep us in your prayers as we probably still have another 2-3 weeks here. This has already seemed like we’ve been here twice as long as we have and we are so homesick right now. Also pray for everyone at home that they will stay healthy and strong.
