Shyanne has been a busy little lady today. She had a visit with Daddy this morning and then the Speech Therapists came in to work with her a little bit.
She was excited when Daddy got in the floor to play with her but then he fell asleep. Just before daddy left the OT came in… she had worked with Shyanne in the NICU before and knows her pretty well.
They played for a bit until it was almost lunch time. Shyanne was tired because she’d missed her morning nap but she was really wound up. She snuggled in my lap and wanted a ‘snack’ which was all it took to put her to sleep.
The plan had originally been to get her unhooked after lunchtime so she could get in the tub. She saw me blow up the bathtub and got really excited about it.
We had to adjust plans a little bit but she did get in the tub after she ate her lunch.
After her bath it was dressing change time and she did really well. We joked about her doing a ‘How To’ video for some of the older kiddos who hate dressing time.
She refused to go back to sleep even after I rocked her for a bit in her chair. She played on the mat for a bit and she had some of her favorite afternoon snack … Magic Cup.
Then she had some more visitors before dinner and after dinner as well. She played for a while with one of the volunteers… they had a dance party on the mat with Snow White, Cinderella, Jessie (from Toy Story), and Slothie. She’s really starting to interact with her toys and she loves giving everyone and everything kisses.
I was finally able to get her to sleep so I snuck in the bathroom and took a nice hot shower. Now I’m so ready for bed!
Her number keep going up and her ANC is over 300 today. This is not her normal so we aren’t for sure what she is doing and we have no idea how much longer we’ll be here.
I’m pretty sure that Infectious Disease has said they could stop some of the antibiotics as her infection has cleared up now so hopefully that won’t be an issue to keep us here. We are still under contact precautions for the rhinovirus though but she seems to be doing much better.
Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue to wait for her counts to come up to where they need to be.
