Home Sweet Home is where we are right now and we are so happy to be here.
Shyanne had a busy morning with her biopsy and lumbar puncture. She also received some chemo during her procedure.
There was a bit of a mix up after surgery which caused me a little panic but everything turned out ok.
I had been told that she wouldn’t go to ‘recovery’ after surgery as her ANC was below 500. They told me to wait for her in the room. Well, I was busy packing and got a call saying she was in recovery if I wanted to come see her… I was a bit update as I didn’t want her waking up without me there.
It took a mad dash to the elevators, down two floors only to realize that those elevators didn’t take me to the area I needed to go… down two more floors, run across the hospital to another set of elevators and then back up two floors. I managed to get there just as she waking up… whew!
Afterwards she was monitored for a bit and then we got the official word that we would go home. Her sweet nurses did her dressing change and cap change so we would be good until our clinic visit on Monday.
She will have a pediatrician visit on Saturday but other than that we should be fairly ‘free’ here at home.
My plan was to come home and rest but it’s almost dinner time and kiddos are hungry. I got them to help unload the van and I’ll need to clear the bed before any resting can get done.
There’s some piles of packages and mail that I’ll need to work on tomorrow as well. So much to do and so little time… I feel a bit overwhelmed already but it’ll be ok.
Shyanne is having a blast being home though. She’s been a little cranky but she did have surgery today so that’s understandable.
We’ll try to have a little party for her while we’re home and I’ll get all these packages and gifts open to thank everyone as soon as I can.
If you don’t see any posts for a couple of days it’s just because we’re busy taking care of things here at home. We’ll try to keep everyone updated though.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. We love you all!
