Last night was another sleeping in the chair night. Thankfully the new seat cushion and the neck pillow have made it a little bit more comfortable.
Shyanne ate pretty good at breakfast and lunch. At dinner she was really picky and would only eat her banana pudding. I’m hoping her appetite picks up tomorrow.
Today was dressing change day which means Shyanne got to take a tub bath beforehand. She had a blast!!!
Here’s our Instagram post from today:
‘Dressing change day = bath time play
She hasn’t been able to have a tub bath since we got here because she’s been hooked up to her IV.
She was super excited to finally take a tub bath today and didn’t want to get out. I used a bikini top to keep her lines out of the water and it worked wonderfully!
I also threw together a ‘no sew’ snap up romper with access to her port. It has some straps to hold IV lines on the back as well. I added snaps to the straps but ended up tying them because she kept undoing them.
I do see some design changes I could make in the future for some more rompers though.
Currently we are waiting for the doctors to come in and we suspect she may have the beginnings of an umbilical hernia… we just noticed it after bath time.’
It was confirmed that she does have a small umbilical hernia… not sure why or how, also not sure what the treatment will be or if it needs to be treated right now. It goes back in on its own so it’s not an emergency at this time but they will keep an eye on it.
I also made another little ‘no sew’ outfit.
It works out pretty well. Everyone thought it was cute and it provided quick and easy access to her lines. I just cut it a little bit longer than the vest I last made and added some snaps to the bottom so it would snap like a romper.
Arts in Medicine came by after I had finished it and she went to look for a sewing machine. The material had been for a blanket but I really liked it and used it for this little outfit. I also made a hair bow later on.
She came back a little bit later with a sewing machine and some more fabric and supplies. I’m hoping to work on a couple more outfits over the weekend.
Sissy came to see us as well. (Big brother is at the house right now too.) She will be leaving tomorrow and we will miss her very much.
She brought us some clean clothes, snacks, and some materials I had asked for from my sewing supplies. Hopefully ill I’ll be able to make a couple more outfits before we leave. If not, we’ll be back soon and I can work on them then.
I’ve just laid Shyanne in her bed so I’m hoping she will sleep a bit so I can get a little rest.
As Shyanne’s birthday approaches (7/8) many people have asked about our wishlist and I know I’ve shared the link before but here it is again:
We thank you all for your love and support!
