It’s almost midnight and I just realized I haven’t updated for the day. I’ve been busy with a lot of other things today and just didn’t get around to doing it.
Shyanne is doing great… earlier I learned that her ANC was 110! Way to go baby girl! The rest of her bloodwork was as follows:
WBC 3.5 (up from 3.4), HGB 8.2 (same), HCT 23.8 (up from 23.2), PLT 100 (up from 75), and of course her ANC 110 (up from 88)
The doctor was afraid to say that she was on her way to count recovery because they could still go down again but if she can stay level and make steady gains then that is a sure sign she is getting better.
She definitely seems to be feeling better as she keeps getting up earlier and earlier. This morning I heard her toy going almost as soon as I stepped in the shower. I found her happily playing away when I got out.
She’s also been quite the stinker and has been wanting to nurse constantly. If she’s not nursing she wants me to hold her… she won’t nap unless she’s in my lap. I’ve just been laying her in her bed and letting her play… I figure she’ll go to sleep when she gets tired enough.
I did get a break today as they have allowed volunteers on the floor. It was nice to know someone was sitting with her and talking to her while I stepped out for a moment.
She wasn’t too happy that I was leaving without her but she got over it when I brought her a cookie back. Her favorite foods right now are sweet potatoes, yogurt, and sugar cookies. I’m hoping she will get back to a more normal diet when we get home but for now I’m just happy she’s eating!
I’ve kept myself busy today by getting our homeschool stuff ordered for our new year. I’m hoping most of it will be at home when we get there so that I can get some lessons put together before I leave.
I combined as many subjects as I could and they will study the same things but have different assignments based on their grade levels. The girls are on the same level currently and I did put the boys together as well but nice got some more challenging math for Joey because he already knows most of the work they’ll be doing. It’ll be good review practice for him and it will help him understand it all better to go over it again as well.
The kids won’t have a long break if everything is there but I figure if they do some work while we are in the hospital then they can have a break when we are home. I can also use that time to go over/review anything they might be having trouble with.
It’s going to be a bit crazy for a while but it’ll work out one way or another.
Anyways, I need to get little miss out of bed so I can feed her before they come in to do her IV medications. She’s already scooted herself down to the foot of her bed where her toys are… lol.
We hope you all have a blessed week and we thank you all again for your continued support!
